Verdict: A well-studied strain in general, but the evidence supporting it is not oral-specific β its role here is more about overall microbial diversity than a documented dental mechanism.

Lactobacillus paracasei
What it is: Another common Lactobacillus species used across dairy fermentation and probiotic supplements, distinct in its metabolic behavior from L. reuteri.
Why it's in the formula: Manufacturers list it for its reported role in maintaining a balanced oral bacterial population and general immune support.
What the research shows: A small number of published trials have looked at L. paracasei in the context of gingivitis, generally as part of multi-strain products rather than in isolation, which makes its individual contribution hard to separate out.
Verdict: Plausible supporting role, but the direct evidence base for oral outcomes is thinner and mostly comes from combination-product studies.
Prebiotic fiber
Inulin
What it is: A plant-derived soluble fiber, commonly sourced from chicory root, that human digestive enzymes can't break down β but many beneficial bacteria can.
Why it's in the formula: Inulin acts as a food source for the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains, intended to help them survive and establish themselves rather than dying off quickly β the "prebiotic" half of a synbiotic pairing.

Tricalcium Phosphate
What it is: A calcium-and-phosphate mineral compound used widely in dental products as a remineralizing agent.
Why it's in the formula: It's included to supply calcium and phosphate ions, the building blocks tooth enamel needs for remineralization after acid exposure.
