What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that records when a visitor arrives at a health product creator's website through our platform. If that visitor makes a purchase, the brand pays us a referral commission — typically a percentage of the sale value. The price paid by the consumer is identical whether they arrive through an affiliate link, claim an active coupon, or navigate directly to the brand's site.
Affiliate marketing is a standard commercial model used by educational platforms, authoritative research sites, and health publications worldwide. It is one of the primary ways that independent editorial operations sustain themselves without relying on brand advertising, sponsored content, or paywalls.
How We Use Affiliate Revenue
Revenue earned through affiliate commissions funds the operational costs of Supplements Mag — including our in-depth ingredient analyses, the creation of educational health articles, expert editorial staff costs, and the active sourcing of working coupons. Without this revenue, we could not maintain the rigorous level of product evaluation that distinguishes our educational platform from marketing hype.
The Firewall Between Commerce and Education
The most important thing to understand about our affiliate arrangements is what they do not do. Affiliate commissions do not — and cannot — influence:
- Supplements mag Review Scores. Scores are calculated using a strict, research-backed methodology applied consistently to every health product. No brand can pay to improve its overall review score.
- Ranking order. Products and targeted cures are ranked by their review score. A product with a higher commission rate but a lower educational score will appear below a product with a lower commission rate and a higher score.
- Inclusion in the database. Health products must pass our minimum scoring threshold to be listed on our platform, regardless of whether an affiliate arrangement exists with the creator.
- Exclusion from the database. We do not remove a targeted cure from our educational database because it earns us no commission. Conversely, we do not keep a product listed that has failed our ingredient re-evaluation standards, even if it is a high-earning affiliate partner.
Which Links Are Affiliate Links?
On Supplements Mag, the following link types are typically affiliate links:
- "Claim Active Coupon" buttons on product cards and educational review pages.
- "Official Site" buttons that link to a health brand's direct website.
- Links within our Coupon Finder tools that direct to verified offers.
- Short redirect links using our
/get/URL structure.
Links to clinical research databases, government health resources, and peer-reviewed educational studies are not affiliate links.
